Default Funk button wiring

Hey,

I know I've seen something about wiring this switch in the past, but can't seem to find what I'm needing now, so I appreciate it if anyone can steer me in the right direction.

The problem is that this is a "momentary" switch, kind of like your horn. It cannot be wired to keep anything in a persistent "ON" condition, and I'm trying to fire some aux lights. It has been wired successfully as a mute button for a radar detector, which is cool, but that is also a "momentary" function. (The wording on the OEMPL.us site is a little bit confusing for me on this, but they've been helpful in confirming that it will NOT create a on/off condition for something like aux lighting, at least not without that momentary switch firing an on/off switch behind it.

For you engineering types out there, it would be converting a momentary to a latched switch. I've seen the engineering articles linked through here via searching, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a "canned" solution, as I'm nowhere near an engineer. Other links I found are either no longer operating, or appear to be dead ends, so I appreciate your help.

we've got the FUNK.

Default 2-way switched relay

Could you not wire a two way relay behind the "Funk" switch.

That's something I was trying to figure out--something like that, not much experienced with this stuff, and working on some contacts who are. Some type of on/off switch behind the button. Will be visiting an electronics place soon, and I'll bring your suggestion to them. Will post back with any success.
Thanks!

Default K.I.S.S.; Why not just use another switch (on/off) located...

at a decrete location and continue using the funk button as your V1 mute.
