Headlight Range Control

Yesterday for the third time my Headlight Range Control Defective warning light came on. The first two times this occured at start up. I simply turned the motor off and restarted and all was ok. This time the light came on while the car was moving.

This is a 2006 A4 3.2 quattro with bi-xeons and adaptive turning headlights, built in June 2005.
Any suggestions? Had the dealer check for fault codes during the first two times, I guess it is time to check in with the dealer again. Not a serious problem just wanted to see if any of you have been down this road and how it turned out.

had it happen a few times....

i did the same thing, turned the car off and re-started and all was good...dealer told me the same thing, no problem until it breaks for good

I had it happen on my '05.5 A4. The headlight warning simply came on and stayed on. The dealer had a TSB for it and the headlight control software needed an upgrade. They took care of it and no problems after that.
