Hi guys,

While driving earlier today, I was behind a truck at a stop light. I thought he moved, so I tapped on the gas, but immediately stepped on the brake pedal when I noticed he wasn't moving. It sounded like my ABS engaged, but aside from that, my car drove normally afterwards. I stopped the car for a few hours, drove it a few miles away for dinner and I noticed no issues. I was driving it in tiptronic mode.

After dinner, I got in the car, and my girlfriend noticed that the ESP light was on. I then immediately noticed my tach needle was bouncing a bit at idle, something it usually doesn't do. As I started driving, again in tip mode, it seemed like my car would shudder as I was passing about 2200 RPM. I tried to shift it over to "D" mode to see if that helped, and instead it seemed like the transmission was holding gear a lot longer than it should have, to maybe 3500 rpm under light acceleration. I stopped on the side of the road to see if that might help, and when I started up the car, I noticed that the MIL and ESP were now both on.

Is this something that's happened before? I know I need to take it in to a dealership, probably on Wednesday, but does anyone know what might have caused this or what the problem might be? It seems to be a tranny issue, so I'm hoping a transmission reflash will be all I need, but I don't know why the ESP light would be on, if that was the case.
