ok, i took my car to the dealer yesterday at 8 am. the service manager knew what i was taking it in for(ooil coming from the cap and onto the tp)..he said it would be about 1.5 hours. they were done in 40 minutes..i know they did not just clean it because they left oil on the top..i havent seen any yet, but isnt that a little too quick? tia

the service manager was swamped, all he said was
that i am getting a mailed list of what they did. it was for the pcv replacement. that common problem of oil seeping through the oil cap and also driping onto your testpipe. i just want to know if anyone had gotten this problem fixed, and how long dd it take/

his explanation is actually dead on. Audi released an updated version
of the pcv valve array that sits on top of the valve cover and incorporates check valves to keep boost from entering the valve cover and your head. If the check valve(s) fail, boost enters the head pressurizing it and blowing the seal around the oil filler cap.
You went to the new pcv array which is a superseded part number ending in "g".
This is a well documented common failure with a Technical Service Bulletin related to all 2.0T FSI engines.
Sounds like they did good work and it could actually have been accomplished in about 10 mins.
