iPod adapter question
I keep getting conflicting information about the Audi iPod adapter for the Symphony II+ stereo. When playing tracks within one of the 6 playlists, will artist and title be displayed on the head unit or not?

The II+ apparently has CDTEXT but if you're using an Audi or Dension adapter, it will not transfer song title yet as it'll require a firmware update... assuming the head unit can pick up the CDTEXT info from an external changer.
I checked Dension a few days ago - no new firmware (I think 2.10 is the latest one for the Icelink).

Ok, if I am going aftermarket with the iPod then....
I would like to control it through the iPod, which i guess frees me up to get XM. Has anyone been successful doing iPod and XM? For the iPod, I would require hardwired (no FM modulator) and one that hopefully charges the iPod when connected.

Head unit text -- never
Supposedly the actual interface to the head unit doesn't support it and never will.
I have a Dension adapter in my A3. You can control volume and tracks with the steering wheel controls, and see the song info on the iPod. The iPod can stay in fully normal mode during all this, with the scroll wheel and buttons working as usual.
Someone on the A3 forum had posted a successful SAT + iPOD integration awhile back, if u search for it you'll probably find it...

I think the Dension Dice is able to send cd text information. There is a toggle switch for it on the adapter. The Dice user manual for Audi suggests to have the toggle switch in off position for faster operation, but that user manual is from pre Symphony II+ era. I have the Symphony II, which does not support cd text, so I can not verify this for 100%. I suggest to look at the information on the Dension website or talk to the guys at enfig.com
