Doesn't matter if 1.8 or 2.0, it's a turbo, so check vacuum lines.
This is just a what if, as there are other possible causes for drop off and recovery of idle speed. Too lean an air/fuel mixture, throttle body not opening/closing properly, ignition system, etc.
However, like someone said in another post, if miniscule(<50 rpm or so), I wouldn't consider it abnormal.
Is idle rough while this happens?

Well, the idle speed really shouldn't dip noticeably, but if you don't feel anything and are just noticing a very slight movement of the RPM needle in instrument, I wouldn't worry about it.
The 2.0 uses direct fuel injection, so that may have something to do with it, I really don't know.
