aluminum trim (I wanted the Amber Vavona, but that required Beige leather--I think light wood and a black leather interior would look smashing)
Luxury Package (AoA's little way of ensuring no A4s go for less than 30k)

Cold Weather
Sport (these may be the first non RS rims that actually look pretty decent)
Bose (XM--better world music stations)
rear-window shades (I know I know, pure frippery, but what's one more button)
and...the pain of pains....tiptronic.
man do I feel guilty about this. The last 10 years of my life have been marked by stickshift cars: 1992 300zx; 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT, and 2002 A$ 1.8T...but the irritations of living in Los Angeles and commuting to Long Beach twice a week and well...jeez, I turn 30 next week and the Tiptronic purchase kind of makes me feel old.
Oh will the Audi gods forgive me!
But I can't wait to get the car!

You turn 30 next week. Oy vey. My 10 year law school and 20 year h.s. reunions are both in October. How's that? Why didn't you go for the CVT? Quattro? What did you pay and when will it arrive? I ordered a similar car in early Feb. but with Nav & CVT, no sport.

Not bad, not bad.
Close to mine, but I replaced Cold Weather by the Nav+.
I have to tell you that I was really impressed with the Tip Quattro.
It was a little underpower with the 1.8T, but not with the 2.0!!!
You are going to love it.

In my rush to post, I forgot to mention that I got the quattro, which meant no CVT for me...
and..(this is the big one) I also got the Navi.
How could I have forgottent that?
It won't arrive for three months.
It's a replacement for my 1.8T, which was Lemoned.

Apparently my order went in about 2/7. I'm hoping the car arrives by 4/20 (heh heh) so I can drive it down to San Diego for the weekend. I know that's probably not realistic, but the dealer said he was able to change an existing order before production began.

don't worry, you will love it
I switched to a tip S4 after only driving manuals. And man did I worry after ordering it. But I am totally happy with mine and I drive in Bay Area traffic every day. I still drive my wife's manual Acura a lot and while sometimes it's fun, most of the time I just think it's not worth the extra work. Not in practical, everyday driving terms. The tip is so smooth and responsive, and you don't give up much at all in the way of performance.

I want the light wood on black leather too! I wish Audi would do this combo. It looks so
modern and rich! The G35 I test drove back in 2002 had such an interior and it really looked elegant. The A6 and A8 have similar options too. Why not the A4? Grrrr Some people special order paint colors. I want to special order interior colors. I have never heard of this happening before but that would be my ultimate B7 interior.

At the time I ordered, I wasn't aware that you could special-order paint. (I just learned that from the AW A4 review a couple of days ago.) If I had known, I might have tried to see if they'd go for it.
The light vavona looks awesome, but against the beige it's so low-contrast...

This brings the interior alive and adds some spark and personality. When everything blends in, it's boring and conservative. I want to special order the birch with the black dash.
