Default Psi..

Anyone know how much Boost (psi or bar) the 2.0T user stock? And anyone know what the motor can handle?

i think it might be 14 psi and 20psi when flashed...someone correct me if I'm wrong

Looks about right. Depends on climate too, Give or take 2psi from each.

Default With regards to what the motor can handle, that's not a simple question...

For example if a tuner made an error and tuned in a bad air/fuel and timing, than even stock boost could kill a motor. On the other hand, if one tuned it very well, perhaps even 29psi would be fine as I ran 29psi for thousands of miles on my B6 and 26psi for 35K miles. All while running sub 910 degree EGTs and less than 3 degrees timing pull on tracks in Florida. But that's not the norm. That takes tuning that very few are capable of in the world. I'd say a competent tuner should be able to run 20psi just fine, maybe more. Right now, I dont know of a B7 tuner who has been able to go above about 20psi though because of the nature of the new electronic BPV, me9 computer, and basically unknown factors.

The other real thing that needs to be looked into is what the TURBO can handle, not just the motor. KKK turbos are for the most part VERY durable turbos (with the exception of the biturbo S4 design). They are used in high output Mercedes and Porsche applications. The question no one can answer is how robust is the new one used in our cars. Nobody yet knows.

That seems like a lot no? On my civic I ran 8psi. I mean normally for 1 psi that 10hp, so this motor with no turbo is pretty ****ty..

1psi doesnt = 10hp. That would put the B6 A4 1.8t at 225hp stock (the 170hp one).

No...let me explain.

Civic has 150hp @ 8psi (10hp for every 1psi) so 8 x 10 = 80. Add 150 for the bone stock motor to 80 and get 230hp.

In this case the 2.0T has 200hp and 14psi...which wouldnt make any sence. So i am trying to figure out the proportion in this turbo motor to HP.

I have used the proportion above and it has come close with a lot of motors, again I never drove or owned a German car so I am figuring out how everything is calculated.

Default I believe the turbo in a stock 2.0T puts out 7-9 psi much like in the 1.8T.

I think 2.0T uses the same turbo as the 1.8T as well.

I MAY BE WRONG.

Default The B6 1.8t is 10psi stock and makes 170hp with a base `125hp motor...the b7 is 12-14 psi stock...

with likely about a base `140hp motor. So the 1psi does not = 10hp in this case. The turbo is a k03, but not the same k03 we are used to. All new design. Kind of like there are about 10 different vaiants of the k04 out there. cheers! Mike
