Static in speaker

Static in speaker
Hey guys just got my first Audi. 2007 Audi A4 avant Quattro 6speed manual. Today I noticed that one of the rear speakers has a strange static sounding noise. Doesn’t change volumes when I adjust volume. It goes away when the radio is off. Takes maybe 10 seconds to start again after turning radio on. Any suggestions? Maybe a speaker going bad? Electrical issues are not my forte at figuring out.

I would start by reseating the electrical speaker connections at both the amp/headunit and the speaker. With the age of our vehicles, corrosion and loose plugs are always possibilities.

thank you I will try that. It actually wasn’t happening yesterday. So guessing there is a loose connection somewhere.

Could be a loose connection so I would check that first but usually when you get static or noise thru a speaker it's a capacitor going bad in the amplifier section. Not sure if the amp is in the radio or there is an additional amplifier. Depends to if you have the bose or standard radio. You can find parts at a junkyard and plenty of Youtube video's to help solve the issue. I seen the picture of the rain soaked parking lot and thought where does he live Washington state. Sure enough.

thanks. I still haven’t really dug into the car. It seems it was only a one day thing so far. If it happens again I’ll start the search. I saw an amp on the back next to the sub. Not sure if that amp is only for the sub or for the whole car. It’s in the passenger side rear cargo area.

Nice looking car. Never seen that color. I have an 06 advant with an automatic. My first Audi also. Great car be patience with it Audi's can be finicky but so nice to drive. Mine needs new shocks and struts and looking at your pictures mine sits lower almost like it's been lowered even though it has stock springs on it. Nice thing to is there still making all kinds of parts for these older cars.
