Stuttering Engine On Acceleration. Please help!
I have a 2006 A4 2.0t with the S-Line package, automatic transmission, just bought it a little while ago and noticed that when I'm driving along everything is fine, but when I push the pedal down and it drops a gear to accelerate faster it almost always stutters pretty violently as I keep pushing the pedal down trying to accelerate. I've read some posts on a similar issue others were having and all I could find as a solution is changing the coil packs but I just recently got them replaced via the Audi Recall so it can't be that for mine because it's still doing it.
The car runs fine other than that but I can barely accelerate aggressively at all without it doing this so takes the fun out of it a bit. Could there be any thing else that would cause this? And only once when I kept accelerating and it kept stuttering did the check engine light come on, since then I don't do it.

I had something very similar happen. It would happen as I was accelerating onto the freeway or passing someone.
Took it in, there was excessive wear on the cam follower, so they replaced the cam follower and cam shaft and whatever else is in there. All under warranty.
Take it in.

If your cam follower is worn and replaced with no other damages, the cost is about $250-$300. If there is significant damage to other parts costs can balloon up to $2000-$3000. But before panic sets in, I suggest you read up on the latest news, contact your Audi dealer for the latest on the cam follower issue, and finally bring it in to see what the extent of the problem is.
