I cant seem to find anything at all in the archives, and the internet search is getting annoying. I found the Kozy K-9 rear seat cover. Its basically a big fleece or denim blanket the velcros around the headreasts to protect the seats, and also found a few nice soft dog carriers with handles. Figure buying both would be enough protection, and would be able to put our dog in the carrier outside, and then lift her into the back seat with the Kozy K-9.
What are you guys doing? Those with avants, I hate you. TIA for your suggestions.

We carry our dogs in my Land Rover or my pickup :-)
We have two pit bulls, one is about 55 lbs and the other is about 65 lbs.
I got this black seat cover for my Audi that covers the back seat, but they always manage to get it all twisted around. Since the back seat slopes back towards the rear of the car, it seems like the seat cover wants to slide back and bunch up where the seat hits the seat back. Two excited dogs back there just exacerbates the situation.
Although the few times they have ridden in the A4, the seat doesn't get that bad -- the worst thing is the drool and snot all over the back windows and dripping down the insides of the back doors.
I try and avoid taking them in the Audi at all costs!

Depends on the size of the dog (s)
We have two 10 lb ****zus and we use car seats that mount to the headrests, they keep the dogs at the window level and strapped in.
For larger dogs, (works for little ones too) get a travel harness and a blanket with holes for the seatbelts and headrests (or make fleece blanketlike my wife did), then use the travel harness to buckle the dog to the belt.
In Pa, it will soon be a law that your pets must be belted. In any case, it's best to do this from the time when the dog is a pup so they get use to it.

It's not really a name brand... but
it's somthing like <a href="http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444177 9741&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032887&ASSORT MENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1175723545 234&itemNo=2&Ntt=Car&In=All&previousText=Car&N=2"> This</a>
It's padded in the front, and on the back, the harness strap splits to slide the belt through, or for larger dogs uses clip to connect the harness to the belt.
We got it at petsmart.
