You can and I did for 40,000 miles without any problems.
As long as you keep the rolling diameters of the front and rear wheels within 3% going staggered is no big deal.
Others says it causes stress on the quattro system and drivetrain. I an others have ran it for 1000s of miles with no problems. I bet I push my car harder on the track than when my 19s were on her.
If I didn't have to upgrade to a BBK for track purposes I'd never sell those Keskins I had.
