Auto switch to reverse camera

Good day all

I recently retrofitted a OEM RVC and everything is working correctly except for having to select the camera every time i select reverse. By default it goes to the Park Assist screen.

Is there a way to change the default screen to the camera. It is a 2015 Avant.

Is that to say that you had the Parking Plus system before adding camera and you still get the (horizontal) grapics only until you select "Rear View" with the MMI controls?
Then I would suspect that there is some coding missing. I have the factory installed camera and it starts in Rear View mode (with the vertical graphics overlay in the picture).

Or possibly 5F-Information Electr.

If i change byte 7 bit 0 to 0 (Parking aid installed)i get the rearview camera but no parking aid overlay, change it back to 1 and that is when it defaults to the parking aid with "Rear View" in the bottom left corner.

Thanks to a chap on audi-sport.net forum Johnny161171 he gave me the answer.
All working as it should. Now my hair can grow back. See below

With VCDS go to Controller 09 Central Electrics, then Long Coding, Long Coding Helper.
Select Byte 35 and tick bit 4. If bit 4 is not available as it was on mine, select "LCode2" on the top menu which should allow you to select Bit 4. This will change the HEX value to 34. Once Coded you need to go into the Parking Sensor Menu on the MMi, then disable Display and then re-enable the display (This is very important!)
The Reverse Camera will now be the default when reverse is selected and the OPC display will show on the right side over the camera image.

Make sure 6C is ticked in CAN gateway Installation list.
Make sure 5F is coded for byte 7, bit 1. Reboot MMI. Make sure 6C is coded correctly.
