Continental tires
Ok, so we've gone over this many times on the forums.
Our quattro's came with the Pirelli all seasons, soft as crap and they suck for life.
Most of us switched to the Continental ExtremeContact DWS afterwards.
I just noticed that Discount Tire Direct is now carrying a Continental PureContact all season, for $10/tire more.
The EC-DWS is rated for 50000 miles. The PureContact is rated for 70000. Anyone got experience with these?
If they're good tires, and last longer for only $10 more -- no brainer.

The PureContact is more of a traditional all season whereas the DWS is more of a performance all season (if there is such thing). When I was researching these a few weeks ago I recall the largest difference being the stiffness of the sidewall according to reviews.
I opted for the DWS for my S4 and have driven them in dry, rain, ice, and snow and they are fantastic. I can't comment on the PureContact as I haven't personally driven on them but from what I've heard they're just less performance based.

I'm not seeing a sidewall stiffness rating on here.

Nothing wrong with the Conti's except the better tires come from Germany. The ones from Mexico and Brazil can be made with different formula containing more polyester.
German tires are made with Nylon. This is an unusual plastic in that it does not expand when heated. It actually contracts. This makes the tire hold the rim better, and keeps the belts and cords in place.
Look on the sidewall of the tire for country of origin. quattro requires all four tires be nearly identical, so don't mix types or countries when buying.

I hear a lot about the whole "stick to the OEM tire brand" claim.
Is there any truth to this? Has anyone noticed anything out of the ordinary with their Conti's? Any negative change in overall feel?

I switched to the Conti's DWS and the noise level is a lot better than the Pirelli. Performance has been great. Live in Houston so haven't tested it in the snow and ice. Tirerack was great and fast delivery.
