Engine locked
Marvin, new guy here. I own a 09 A4 B8 with 130k miles. I’d been getting a code, along with an engine light, for the camshaft position sensor and I had it replaced about a week ago. Well 3 days after, the engine light pops on and gives me the same code. Car was taking longer to turn over and start. So last night, I was about to bring it back to the shop and when I started to head down the road, the car had little to no power. The RPMs didn’t even go up past 3,000 and the car didn’t go past 40 mph. So I turned around and came back home. This morning I got up and went to start the car, nothing but a click. I had it towed to the shop and the repairman said the engine was locked. Anyone else ever experienced this?

There have been some somewhat serious issues with the timing chains and tensioners on these cars.
If that's your case, you'll need to decide if it's time to write off the car or keep going with it.
