ERROR CODE "gearbox malfunction you can continue driving (limited functionality)
2010 Audi Quattro A4 Premium Plus Sport Package. Was running flawlessly
I lost key and had towed and re-keyed at the dealer and now have this error message and tranny isn't working right.
I now have this error message,
ERROR CODE "gearbox malfunction you can continue driving (limited functionality)
I cant get it out of park without using emergency button under ash tray and car doesn't run as well trans isn't shifting as well, paddle shift not functional.
The dealer wants 2hrs to diagnose, $330 no big deal just trying to figure it out myself.
TOWTRUCK?
Something else common,
I am a pretty good wrench,
I have checked ALL fuses, sides of dash, trunk fender well, under windshield, dash under the hood, under the fluid washer reservoir
Bummed

1st how was the car towed. Was it on a flat bed. How did they get the car on the bed without a key. Did they drag it up in gear. Same questions on removing it at the dealers. Was it an Audi tow or and indy tow service. Did the problem start at the dealership after they cloned another key. Did they have to do a software update on the car to make the key work. Need a little more info but I would not have taken the car if this error came up when you started the car at the dealer. Contact the service manager and ask him to fix the problem on their dime and if you don't get cooperation then ask for the dealership GM.
