Default Fault Code P11A500

I see this code in my Ancel VD500 (2014 A4)

P11A500--Cam shift actuator 'A' Cylinder 2 Circuit/Open

Not sure which wires to actually check? Is it the one with two identical connectors going to each cylinder?

So 2A on the EA888 Gen2 is going to be the third adjuster from the front. Some people end up with a broken connector somehow; that might be your scenario. If the connector looks fine and maybe the adjuster itself is suspect, you could just swap the 2A and 2B adjusters and see if the error code stays or moves. Stays, it's that connector or the wiring to it; moves, just replace that bad adjuster.

Thanks, looks like the connector is broken somehow. Would you know the part code for it? 2014 2.0 Quattro.

The unfortunate part about that specific scenario, for whatever reason, the crimp terminals are usually broken too. Is it one of the connectors with the black or yellow center insert? 07P973702 for yellow, 4H0973702A for black. The connector doesn't include crimp terminals or wire leads, but you can usually find them with the parts via google search. Just be sure what you're looking at is the actually correct connector p/n; different variants can have different key slots, etc.

It is the black one. What is the process to remove the crimp terminals/wires from the housing? Just pull from the wires or push from the open holes?

If it's like the 2-pin in this video, youtu.be/lrs8-KtJGus?t=80 , yes, the primary lock on the terminal pin is that metal locking tab you just press back down. In others, you have to insert a tool into the holes on the end to push down the locking tab.

One more question, what is the process of removing the L-shaped connector (has number 7806793 on it) from the 'main' connector.

The cover? The right angle turn is just a plastic cover. It just snaps together, but I guess trying to release that might be a pita. It's p/n 8K0971921: https://www.oemvwshop.com/8k0971921-...e-cap-p335143/ If you look at the second pic, you can see the two tabs that lock into the two slots.

Yeah that's the one, I just have no idea how to 'open' it without breaking it.

You just have to lever it open and hope. Maybe pick up a replacement. Note, finding the actually correct cover (no revision letter) seems to be a pain. ECS seems to only sell the E rev, which is not exactly the same, for example. https://www.genuineaudiparts.com/oem...-cap-8k0971921
