IE: Multiple electrical issues
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction
I have a 2008 1.8 tfsi that starting showing a handbrake fault and the brake would not release on one side. I replaced the module and the error continued, it also started showing weird electrical issues, occasionally when you put the key in the car would go completely dead and you could not get the key out, then after a while some of the functions would restore but not correctly, if you pressed hazards only the front illuminated, if you used indicators the drls light up instead, if you opened the door or turned on the interior light the handbrake motor could be heard. If let sit for a period of time which could be anything from 15mins to 4hrs all functions returned and the car started and drove at normal
Changed ccm 2 , no difference
Changed bcm 1; no difference
Changed key slot no difference
no change when spare key is used
No power to diagnostic Port as car won't turn on so can't do a scan with vcds
With such a situation of lots of random oddities, all you can do is pick one and sort them one by one. You could have multiple harness failures, etc. There's no real way to know without direct inspection/testing.
Start by making sure every fuse that should have term 30 does show 12v. That would be brown and red (except 1-4 in brown) on one end of the dash, all of brown on the other end of the dash, and both blacks and brown in the right rear (yeah, no idea who's brilliant idea it was to invert the usage of black and red between the dash and the rear).
"if you pressed hazards only the front illuminated", sounds like your J393 (BCM2) might be dead. But you say you replaced it? So maybe you have a CAN bus line issue, but that should come across in a scan.
