Default NYC help?

hey guys,

long story short, my wife lost her mini cooper to hurricane sandy. we've been driving her parents' 2004 bmw 5 series and apparently her parents hadn't been doing such a good job of maintaining and/or repairing it. it needs a ton of work and i'm debating if its even worth fixing. does anyone know a good independent auto mechanic or shop in the new york city area? i'd be willing to drive all over. jersey, or new york...keep in mind that these would be bigger jobs and so ideally i'd like to go with someone that specializes in european cars. any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks guys

New Amber Auto Service in Flushing, NY. They have 2 locations, but the original one across the street from the Municipal Parking lot and closer to Main Street is where the owner works out of: Joe Vee.

He's an absolute gem. Very honest and they do good work. If you buy your own parts, they will still install them. He worked on my B5 A4 for a lot of years. Everything from timing belt change to complete AEB engine installation. Since my A4 was a needy, problem child, every one of the mechanics there has worked on my car at one time or another. I wish I still lived nearby b/c I don't trust a lot of these other guys where I live now.

For upgrade/repair motor work and servicing like brake pads and rotors. I go to tyrolsport. They are busy and sometimes need to wait 4-5 days for a appointment but they get whatever you need done properly the first time. They can do anything you can think of that might need upgrading/replacement or maintaining. Good people and they are European automotive specialists. They are in Queens. You can see everything they do on there website http://www.tyrolsport.com/

There not that expensive at all. They also dont mind if you get parts on your own. they just dont take the cheap replica stuff.
