Question about ABT ECU tune
I'm currently in the the market for an audi A4 Pro Line S but undecided about the engine. Currently in europe we can order:
1.8T with 160bhp (ABT claims an ECU tune to 211bhp, 310Nm tq)
1.8T with 120bhp (same engine as the 160bhp but ECU-downtuned by audi, ABT claims an ECU tune to 211bhp, 310Nm tq).
2.0T with 211bhp (ABT claims an ECU tune to 275bhp, 390Nm tq)
2.0T with 180bhp (same engine as the 211bhp but ECU-downtuned by audi, ABT claims an ECU tune to 275bhp, 390Nm tq).
What I was wondering is: are those number by ABT realistic? I mean tuning a 120bhp to 211bhp (or 180 to 275) by only ECU tuning sounds like a lot even though Audi purposely downtuned the engines.
I'm going to chiptune the car in any case but the 120bhp/180bhp engines are way cheaper than their 160/211hp alternatives and if the chiptune is going to end the same way, I of course buy the cheaper version.
So my question is: are those numbers real? Or do independent dynos claim lower numbers?
I tried searching the board for an answer but couldn't find it, if it has been answered before: sorry about asking again.
I'm new to this board but I will definitely start visiting more often from now on, I'm sure I can learn a lot about these cars from you all
