Turbo underboost code
Hi all,
Since I bought my car, I've had the dreaded "turbo underboost" code. I saw in another thread that the code goes away and stays off for them during the winter, and mine does the same.
Is this useful for trying to diagnose what should be replaced first? My car has 187k on it and I'm wondering if it would be worth trying to replace the boost solenoid and/or the diverter valve to see if that will alleviate the issue. I'm aware that this is likely due to play in the waste gate itself (or is it the rod connected to the waste gate?), but of course I don't want to replace the turbo.
I recently moved and no longer have a space to work on my car, so I'm not sure how I'd go about replacing the solenoid and diverter but less than $100 for both compared to the cost of a new turbo would be amazing. Just wondering if people have had any luck with this.
