Default Changing a LED control module

Hi does anybody know if I can change the LED headlamp control module without it having it to be programmed.

Is it plug and play or would i need coding - via Audi or OBDeleven

I got the following fault code

Almost certain the B9 LED headlamp control modules and LED taillight modules require parameterization when new to the vehicle.

They do, I found a thread on another forum where someone bought used, probably a chop shop. Everyone pointed to vcds, but of course they never followed up.

Worst case, go to your dealer and beg them to charge you $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Right to Repair is a real thing.

thank you for the info.

Would it be possible to code it with OBDeleven or does it have to VCDS?????

I don't think either can do the firmware parameterization. Usually when I see firmware type stuff, it's people using VAG Com Pro by VCPsystem (vcpsystem.com), or full actual ODIS and Audi cable.

First, I wouldn't trust 11. VCDS all the way.

But like Smac said, you may need ODIS and another shout out for "right to repair".... aka you might need a dealer visit and their specific cost.

OBDeleven actually has some EEPROM aspects in development. And they are certainly leading Ross-Tech in the SFD department for now. OBDeleven is still trash for troubleshooting / logging purposes, but for modifications purposes, it's decent. I don't know if SFD is pointless without a source for the parameterization data (this is where I see those references to VCP and firmware files commonly), and if one should trust files from another vehicle that seems the same (probably what got Kufatec burned for bricking J393s in the early B8 LED tail days) . The day may come where we'll want both, but not yet. I'd prefer Ross-Tech have a plan that we're all simply waiting on.

11 is ok for a graphical change, gui and nag credits.
VCDS gives it to you, all out, full blast.

Neither of those will do parameterization. You need Vag Can Pro (VCP).
