Default Headlight beam pattern

Hey, so one thing I've noticed with my A4 is the beam pattern. I've been to numerous vehicles that have that obvious angle so there is more light output on the right side (sidewalks and all) than against the incoming traffic; like this photo (it's a RHD headlight).

But mine seems rather linear and on a dark road, i don't seem to see more light towards the right side. It does have a slight angle but it seems to meet up and "angle down" or something and it isn't a prominent angle compared to other cars I've been to. Maybe its just me, and angle doesnt change as I back up further from the wall.. Can you guys post a pic too thanks

You can adjust it if you'd like. Screws next to the light (Phillips head, iirc)

That only changes the height, but not the beam pattern. I just wanted to see what other A4 owners beam patterns look like. If its similar or not.

Mine doesn’t appear to have the sharp angular change in pattern. I have full LED headlamps. Could it be the difference between the LEDs and HIDs?

Beam cutoff pattern in the U.S. is less pronounced than in the rest of the world. Also, B9 A4 LED lamps are not great--their throw is barely adequate so you won't see the distance you will on, for example, the new Q3, whose headlamps are rated much better by the IIHS.

headlights on the A4 are better than anything I’ve driven, so I’m not complaining. I hate driving my wife’s CRV at night - those headlights are useless.

My A4 headlights were aimed too low from the factory and had too short of a throw. Combined with the sharp cutoff it was hard to see far enough ahead and it did not properly illuminate pedestrians. I raised the aiming by 3/4 turn and enabled Auto High Beams via VAG-COM and now it is much better.

I agree with the OP's observation, the light does not seem to be biased to the right like other left hand drive cars in the US.

I find the Auto high beam to not really work well in the city. There are times it would activate in certain roads but going back to that location, it doesn't register mostly. I really wish we had MATRIX headlights. The headlights are very bright but distance wise, it falls short.

Could you please tell me where the screw is located? I do not see by the headlight. Do I need to open the hood? A4 2018 Premium Plus.
