Headlight module cding
Hi all
New to forum and need your advice please
n/s dipped headlight failed so ordered another module like for like on numbers but now light won't work at all, does it need coding and how would this be done

What head lights do you have? HID or LED? Did you just replace the headlamp housing but moved over your old control modules? The headlamp itself doesn't have anything programmed that I know of, but there's the electronics control modules mounted to it (2 iirc) which have to be parameterized (ie, firmware uploaded, more than simple "long coding").

I believe its full matrix led and the module I changed is 7pp941572ab dipped light

8W0 941 033 A is the B9.0 LED (not matrix) A4 headlamp for right hand traffic (drive on left side of road). The actual catalog part number for it is 8W0 941 773 A.

So you see there's the headlamp and then there's two electronic control modules. (2) is for the main beam / dipped beam LEDs. (3) runs all the rest of the LEDs.
Thus the question of did you replace the headlamp due to some issue with it. Or did you replace the control module due to some issue with it. A new control module has no programming; it knows nothing about how to work correctly. It'll have to be programmed. I'm sure there's threads around here or elsewhere of people attempting that on their own. VCDS won't be able to do it, VCP probably could do it if you find the necessary file, not sure if OBDeleven could attempt it. Dealership of course can do it.

Water got into module 2 causing it to flicker wih the dipped light only. Replaced module with like for like numbers believing it was plug and play but now I've no dipped nor main beam
