Keep recirculation turned on?
Does anybody know how to keep the A/C recirculation turned on? I have the on/off switch in the MMI turned on. Yet every time I turn off the car and back on again, the recirculation is off by default.

Given the warning in the manual, I suspect they don't provide a way to do this.
There is automatic mode

There's no logic to support having recirc on all the time. But there is logic to bringing in fresh air regularly. If I throw 4 people in the car with recir on and the windows closed and do a 5 hour non-stop back to home, I imagine there will be a decent amount less O2 in the air than when we started. But you'd need an actual meter in an actual scenario to see what actually happens. At the very least, the air will be pretty rank after 5 hours.
Auto-recirc will manage the recirc mode based on the data from the air quality sensor G238, assuming you have the comfort climate system (multi-zone one).

ODB Eleven has an "App" that will reprogram the logic of the recirculate switch to stay set to whatever was last set when car is switched off (rather than default to fresh air open).
(i suppose this is useful for people who keep their car in a garage...?)
Personally i wouldn't want to drive long periods of time with the vent in closed position. But when driving behind a truck with bad tuning its a godsend.

Carista does this to. Its called "Remember previous air circulation state", but does the same thing.
