Default My car has the auto stop feature disabled as default....

is this right?

I thought that the auto stop was always on and you had to turn it off every time you get in the car? The auto start feature disabled icon is always on in the Tachometer screen.

Additionally, I don't know if it even works. Today when I stopped I could feel the car drop RPM's and then immediately go back up to normal with no input from me. I assume the car is trying to go to auto stop but then cancels in its own.

Am I making any sense?

Is it getting up to operating temperatures? Are you riding the brake to a stop?

It is up to operating temps.

I'm not sure what you mean by riding the brakes to a stop. I stop the car just like any normal car and then keep holding the brake as I'm stopped.

Try pressing the brake harder, see what happens. There's a difference in pressure; with practice you can control it this way.

If the Auto Stop Disabled symbol is always shown then something might be wrong and you show see the dealer. It should only disable Auto Stop if the engine is cold, the A/C needing to cool the inside down or one of the other reasons listed in the manual.

If it is in fact disabled someone may have gone in and changed some of the programming. did you have anything in the car "tweaked"? This can and will void your warranty so it's worth investigating and hoping if it is the case that the dealer recognizes you didn't do it on purpose.

i'm afraid that's incorrect. "Tweaking" the software will not void your warranty. The only time there could be a question would be if a change using VCDS affected the operational performance of the car that resulted in a problem - this would be very rare. The dozens of proven Vag-Com mods made every day for many years by thousands of our members does not prove out that a warranty will be affected.

Has it been really hot out where you live? I notice on really hot days with the AC cranked the stop/start disables in the dash.
