Don't have to be in Dynamic, as long as the transmission is on S. As the matter of fact, my drive select is always in dynamic. I do change the shifter to D or S according to driving situations. Start/Stop will kick in if the shifter is at D even drive select is still in Dynamic.

Have you test driven any competitors with start-stop systems? Certainly compared to the MB C300 and the Infiniti Q50 2.0T, the Audi start-stop system is much, much smoother when it restarts the engine...

I test drove the Mercedes C Class and found the start stop in that car was better, it didn't have the "shudder" I feel with the A4.
Is there any tips on getting the shudder reduced when the car is started in the A4? Do I just have to use start-stop more often to break it in, or perhaps the engine needs to be nice and warm.
