Tire problem

One of the reasons (a bunch of other reasons also) I traded my A4 for the Allroad was because living in NE NJ and commuting to NYC, I was very concerned about pothole damage with those low riding tires. As an aside, for those in NE/NJ the streets in Hoboken are worse than in NYC by far. And in fact I hit a pothole the other night there that I would bet fair money could have resulted in rim or tire damage.
Maybe its just me, but I miss the full spare of years ago. I know, there are space, weight and gas savings that the emergency tires offer, but I'm just saying. Another thing is using that supplied jack is not confidence inspiring.
I do like the idea at least of a space saver vs run flats. If I'm on a trip and driving during the weekend, who's to say someone is going to have a replacement tire for me?

I was hoping to replace the skinny w/ a full size spare, not very feasible...
