So, the trunk has a single LED mini light connected with some 0.35qmm (no idea what AVG that is) or less wire. I would like to connect my 21 LED light strip instead but I don't know if the wires are thick enough to not melt down. I googled a little and it seems that the LED uses about 0.07W, so my 21 LED strip will use 1.26W which is about 100mA. Can a 0.35qmm wire handle that load?
.35mm diameter would be about 28AWG. However, that is really tiny, like wires in your cell phone tiny. I have never seen wires that small in a vehicle before. The smallest I would expect to see is maybe 22-24AWG.
Let me try to take some pictures tomorrow, it's the tiniest wire I have ever seen in a car. It's definitely not 0.5 and even .35 looks thicker as far as I can tell. But 200mA would be more than the 100mA that I need, so it might be worth a try.
Yea my guess is that is a bit larger gauge than 28, regardless, even 28 should be fine for your LED array. A good reference, the wires inside your ethernet cable are most likely 26AWG, sometimes 24AWG. So 28 is even smaller than the wiring inside your ethernet cable.

So how did you connect the led strip to the light? Is there a special connector? I'm looking into doing this myself and not sure what to do. Guess you hooked into the wire?
Took a look at the light itself, it looks like a custom LED chip, no bulb to hook into. In previous cars, I just use an adapter to plug into the wedge or festoon, but there is none on this car.
