Default Upgrade?????

thinking pretty hard about upgrading to a Prestige A6. Any Thoughts? I always wanted the Prestige and them upgraded cruise control. Got an offer on an A6 that stickers at 70k, of 61k, so that seems fair and an offer on my A4 that’s a little higher than I expected.

I got the Prestige package on our A4 and Allroad because that was the only way to get the Driver Assistance Package. That alone was worth the money (for me). We didn't get any other extras (OK, we got a color that cost $500+ extra, but that was it).

Recently, I rented a Silvercar which was a 2018 P+ A4. I missed several features. Of course, I really missed the Adaptive Cruise Control and the Lane Assist that come with the DAP. The ACC really makes driving on anything other than an empty road much less of a strain. But there were a few other things that nagged me by their absence. I have come to rely on the extra cameras you get for the 360/top view when I parallel park. Yes, I can parallel park very well without them, but the cameras really help out, especially the front camera. And I missed the High Beam Assistant, speed limit sign recognition and HUD, but not as much as the features above.

So, what does it boil down to when it comes to Premium+ vs. Prestige? I probably won't ever go to Premium+ if I get another Audi. Certainly not until DAP filters down to the lower trim levels--but even if it does, if the 360/top view cameras stay in Prestige, I probably will stay with Prestige.

Of course, that is for the A4. I don't know about P+ vs Prestige on the A6.

Go for it. While the A6 won’t have VC or traffic jam assist and what not, that 3.0 is a gem. That alone makes the C7.5 A6 worth it. I’ve owned the C7 A6 and have a C7.5 A6. If I had to get rid of all my cars and keep just one, I’d keep my A7.

From the large discount it sounds like this is the 2018 A6, which is at the end of model year. This A6 has the older MMI. I drove a loaner A6 P+ and it did seem a little dated compared to my 2018 A4 prestige. Mapping, virtual cockpit, as well as the MMI controls were not as nice as the newer MMI. DAP is also olde tech, so the lane keeping and cruise won’t be as good as the A4. I’d wait another year until you can get a good deal on a 2019 A6 with the newer tech.

Thanks guys, all good points. On the MMI, you are probably right but I honestly liked the one in the A6 better. I’m kind of old school (or maybe just old) and like that style better. I was a little concerned about the design changes at first and the sales guy was really open about that. I found a bunch of pics of the 2019 model and it hasn’t changed outside very much. I like the interior of the ‘18 better but then as I said I’m sort of old school and I’ll probably like the ‘19 after I get used to it. I did enjoy the 6 cylinders quite a lot. The 2.0 l my A4 is great and definitely gets the job done, but the 6 is cool. I think that 8 grand off the list is pretty good and Audi makes your first payment and I’m gonna pay it off after that first payment, so I’m getting an 8900 dollar discount. Anyway, I appreciate the comments.

Can you expand on this? I'm thinking there's finance charges added to the loan that exceed the "first payment". Unless it's a zero percent loan...

I’m not sure how the mapping on the A6 is old (if he meant navigation map). My A7 has google earth and what not and it works even without Audi connect (I have a car simcard in my A7). Also, MMI controls and other controls feel better in the A7 than in my A4. Lane keeping and ACC in both my A7 and SQ5 feel the same.
A4 B9 vs A6 C7.5 is a no brainer for me. Definitely the A6.

Are you okay getting one of the last C7.5s when the C8 is sooo close?
