Just took a trip to Ottawa this weekend from Toronto. Had a half a tank on the way there. Made it to Brockville before filling up and when I did this is what the car read.
Ended up driving around Ottawa a bunch and went through another tank of gas. Filled up this morning to get back to Ottawa and got an even higher reading.
only went through 3 bars to get home from Ottawa. Each way is 420kms. That was also with cruise set at 120km/hr the whole way with slight traffic when we got back to Toronto. This car can be surprisingly good on gas.

I went there and back with one tank of gas, I think when I got back it was showing still 340km left...I know the short term was 5.4L/100km

I just got back from a 10 day trip to Columbus, GA. After driving up to and around Columbus for 10 days when I filled up the reported range was 580 miles. That's the highest estimated range I've seen so far.

That math does not come close to working with either the short term or long term fuel mileage reported by the car. Even if you assumed the entire 15.3 gallon tank was usable in order to have a 525 mile range your "average mpg" would have to be 34.3 mpg. At my last fuel fill, my car shows long term fuel economy is 29.3 mpg and the range was 540 miles (35.3 mpg). I think the Audi calculated fuel range is artificially inflated to make the owners feel good and it has ZERO bearing on reality. My car consistently has the low fuel light come on around 350-360 miles and it then takes ~12 gallon to fill (360/12.0=29.2 mpg). The fuel range _should_ say something like 388 miles (29.2 * 15.3(fuel tank size)-2.0(reserve)) = 388 miles. Not 540 miles. Audi Engineers should be ashamed. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Totally agree. Since the day I got my car 2 years ago, it has always reported a range of 485 miles on a full tank and has never changed. Driving in NYC, with 85% city and the remaining highway, at best I would estimate I get an actual range of 200-250 miles on a full tank. Even my work vehicle(Ford) has learned my actual range per fill up(~140miles/fill).
