Default Central locking error

Can someone explain to me the central locking error and why I get it 50% of the time when I open my doors? Also why does it seem like my doors are never locked??

Default same problem

I have the same/similar problem. I get a warning that the central locking system is malfunctioning. The manual says to go to the dealer "immediately". I can't open the front passenger door about half the time (from inside or outside the car). I brought the car to my dealer and he said i need a new door latch. This isn't something they keep in stock and had to be ordered. So far, i've gotten the door open without requiring my passenger to climb across the front seat or into the back seat to get out. Anyone else have this problem?

just made an appointment at my dealer. They couldn’t get me in for “electrical” issues until a month from now. I can open all my doors, but when I go to open most of the passenger doors, the latch starts to release, then at the last second it grabs, then releases again. Like someone tries to lock the door while I’m opening it… if that makes any sense. I also have no faith that the door actually locks when I lock it. Like when I lock it with the fab, if I hit the lock button twice, sometimes the car beeps to let me know it’s locked, and sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve also came back to my car after thinking it’s locked, grabbed the handle, hear no mechanical sound of the door unlocking, and the door opens right up. I’ve also opened the shotgun door without the key in my pocket (car is in the garage), the latch releases, grabs again, then releases again allowing me to get in. I don’t know if any of this is coming across in written form… but there is something going on that’s hard to explain.

Default Same problem

Exactly the same behavior - primarily when opening the back doors. Took it to the dealer, got classed as an “Issue with no resolution.” Frustrating.

My 2021 is doing the exact same thing. Very frustrating. The dealer told me the front passenger door latch needs to be replaced. I'm waiting for the parts to come in.

Had the same problem on our 2020. Both rear latches and locking mechanisms were replaced. No issues since then

Update on the error. Took my car in yesterday. The dealer did a software update and said my issue was fixed. When I arrived to pick up my car, the service writer went to get it and pull the car the around. He gets out of the car and says, “I guess we are ordering you 4 new latches. It faulted when I got in. “

2-3 weeks for the parts.

Cleary someone somewhere is on your side. That sort of intermittent fault never seems to happen when there is a service technician with 200 yards of the car

I had an issue with the passenger front door with similar results. Took it in, replaced the latch and no issue since. (About two weeks).

I also had an issue twice with the rear hatch mechanism where it sounded like it would latch twice and pop on the 2nd one. Apparently the cable was coming off the locking mechanism. 2nd timr around there was a tsb about it and the dealer took care of it and so far so good...
