Hatch problems

Hatch problems
I have a 2021 A6 Allroad (third Audi, after an A5 and A7) that is a mere few months old. All was well until this weekend, when the hatch stopped opening. First thing I did was to check to see if the valet mode was activated and I found that there wasn't even a valet switch in the glovebox (or anywhere else I looked). When I press the fob button, or the button in the driver's side door, it sounds like it's trying to open but it doesn't budge.
We're going to take it in for service, but I figured someone here might have some suggestions.

It may be confused about where it needs to be to be fully open. Release the boot via the normal switch above the number plate. If it does not open pull it open manually and open it to the maximum open position. Press and hold the close button until it bleeps, then clost the hatch. Assuming it closely as expected then try and reopen it, hopefully it will open as expected, if not then there is clearly some sort of fault

I tried your suggestion and it didn't work, but I appreciate the advice. While the missing valet button still is a mystery, I think that the problem is a variation of what you described...the hatch sensor says that the hatch is open on the dash, but it's not open when you try to move it. There must be a short or some other disruption in the sensors.

Sorry that didn't work out, hopefully it is something silly and easy for the dealer to fix. Can't help you with the valet button as it is not a feature on UK market cars. I do wonder though if the Allroad and RS6 would have one, since (i believe) its primary function is to allow the trunk area to remain secure whilst the car is being driven by a third party. On Avant bodied cars you can access the trunk by folding down the seats from within the car, so the valet button would be of limited use.
