Did anybody ever got it working?
I notice here an earlier post refering to the Ami port still on the back of the head unit, and I think you can plug a pre 2014 cable into this, and initialize it using OBDeleven, but I'm not going to bother. Life's too short. Fit a cheap android tablet to a magnetic holder and mount on the console. Take it with you when finished with the car. |

All the blogs I'm listening to have been quiet on this, and on tethering data back into mmi from your phone or a 4g router. 2015 facelift on mmi is locked down, there are guts on a Russian site trying to access api to set parameters for reading in data from usb. The goal is to get online services, Google maps ect. Audi's goal is to sell you expensive Audi connect hardware and subscription.

That's a cheesy solution, when there's a perfectly good screen already there. I looked at the images of the back of the unit and I didn't see the pre-facelift AMI port in any of them.
