Default A7 rear window light in a A6

What do you guys think? Putting the rear brake light at the top of the rear window from the a7 to the a6.. Has anyone considered doing this yet? The reason I am thinking of doing it is becuase the little light I have now rattles with the Bass from my sub so I need to mess with it already but I was thinking of making it the long, full lenght light in the a7... that light just makes the car look way better at night.

Since the A6 is not a fast back, will the light be pointing out or down.

Wires would have to be run to power it. Where are you going to drill the hole?

I do like the location of the third brake light on the A7/S7.

There is already a light there, I was assuming (hoping really) that we should be able to unplug the current light and plug in the new one...

The A7 third brake light is external at the top of the hatch.

A6 has an internal third brake light

I like the idea but it might no be easy to pull off.

Thank you for clearing that up. I didnt know that it was external. That might pose a bit of a problem. Anyone have any other ideas?

I suggest re-thinking changing lights. To me the A6 light is far better looking than the gaudy (IMHO) "string of pearls” look in the photo of the A7. Comparing the rear shots here of the A6 and the A7, I feel the A6 has a much classier, “simple is best” look. My 2 cents.

You could try some low density packing foam or some RTV to prevent the rattles.

Its not the rattle that I am worried about. You are right about my stereo guy fixing it. He has already dynamatted my entire trunk. The rattle is what got me thinking of making the light look like the A7's. I wonder if there is any other way. I will keep researching. Thanks for your idea's guys.
