ACC mode differences.
Anyone know what or how the ACC does differently when the ACC is in normal, dymanic, or comfort. It will indicate what mode it is in based on your drive select.
Also, I don't know if it is just mine, but when it is following a car in front that starts to stop at a light, it seems to not be able to let off the gas and just coast to slow, it feels like it will get close enough to have to actually start using the brakes. This sometimes is fine and car stops smoothly, other times it feels like the car is not braking hard enough in the start and has to start kind of doing a hard brake. It's very interesting, and it is like right on the thin line of me thinking it is not going to stop in time or it is. Again, its never like a full lock up brake, but it is a pretty hard brake. Any thoughts?

Re: a fully stopped car, the ACC definitely will stop you as long as it has recognized the car as a moving object at some point (for instance, in rush hour traffic). What the manual warns about is stationary objects like walls--which it says ACC might not recognize to stop the car. Not sure if this also applies to situations like approaching a car that has been stopped for a long time, and don't have the guts to test that one out.

In other words, notice the ACC Sign in the car. Best way to deter any problems, avoid using it during city driving.
Lastly, I feel that the different modes in ACC change acceleration and braking. Possibly pursuit distance, but that would be redundant because there is already a setting for that.
However, I have noticed with it on, and no car in front of me as I'm cruising. When I come to a stop light with a car already stopped, it will break extremely hard. So much so that I had to do it myself because it kinda freaked me out.
So I learned..
car in front from the get go = good
car in front already at a stop = not good
