Default Aviator Gray Paint Code

Just ordered an S6 in Aviator Gray Pearl Effect. There seems to be two paint codes for this color, 1X1X and LZ7W. Does anyone know what the difference is?

Ditto. I have the 2013 color list, and Aviator doesn't show up. Both those paint codes are missing from the guide I have as well.

See attached.

I live in the US as well. The dealer took the order with 1X1X paint code which was a TT color they had in 2002. Based on the info they had it was available. I haven't gotten a build date yet so we'll see.

Let us know. I still don't have a build date either. $2325 or $4181 seems high for a new color even if the car is ~$90K. I'd have to think hard on this one.

Thank you Giant Now I have more options to contemplate. This website is just great. Way more knowledge than the dealer.

Update: Told by my dealer today that my order is confirmed with Audi. They said they are 100% sure the color(Aviator Gray Pearl Effect 1X1X) and options I selected are available. Build date to follow. (BTW they also said that 1X1X and LZ7W are the same color, different codes for USA and EU.

You're in the US?

I find it supremely difficult to believe that in the presence of a 4 page list of colors that particular one doesn't appear, yet your dealer thinks otherwise.

Further, 1X1X looks like a special ordering code (follows the same pattern) whereas the LZ7W looks like an Audi AG paint code that just isn't in the list. LZ7X is Nimbus Grey Pearl, LM7W is Graphite Grey, etc. It seems odd that in such a complete list that one would be missing.

All of my conspiracy theory aside, what does the color look like??

Aviator gray is a very light shade of gray, similar to a heavy cloud with the bright sun nearby. I did a lot of research on Audi grays before choosing Daytona.

According to my notes, LZ7W is indeed Aviator Gray. I hope you post some pics when you get it and congratulations on your purchase!

Yes, I live in the US. If you look close you'll see that there are several standard Audi colors not on the PDF (Glacier White for one) so the list is incomplete. Also, That list is the same as the MY2012 pdf yet you'll find people on AudiWorld with 2012 cars in Aviator Gray.
1X1X is the AG code for Aviator Gray on the 2002 TT.
