Default Dent in hood - easily fixed?

Here are a couple of pictures:

Anyone have something similar happen to them before? I was driving on a country back road when what was probably an acorn fell and hit the hood (I was probably going about 55-60 when it hit).

I just had the XPEL Ultimate installed yesterday on the full hood and now have this dent. Any thoughts from anyone about a simple dent repair? I have never had this happen before. I will probably call the dealership tomorrow for some recommendations.

Very frustrating as I haven't even had the S6 a week yet...

Very Easy Fix, since there's no other type of damage (Scratches, paint damage). It needs suction machine to fix it, they use it often for cars with hail damage. Do you have any body shop friends? if not, let Audi give you a quote, make sure they know YOU BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEM. I never did such a thing, but can't imagine the cost be more than 100$.

Also, just did a quick look up (Acorns are a few grams) Can't imagine them doing the damage.

This is "Paintless dent repair"

I don't know about New Jersey, but most body shops do it here for about $70-$100 per panel. Basically, all repairable "Dings" on any specific panel will be fixed as long as they aren't too close to the edge of the panel or near a crease in the panel.

My insurance's authorized body shop did it for my 328ci last year for $70. They did a good job too.

Yours looks easily repairable.

Do you think the suction fix would pull the XPEL film away from the hood?

With regards to it being an acorn - not sure what else it could have been as there was no traffic to kick up any rocks and I was driving under a canopy of trees. Something fell out of the trees and hit the hood. I hope it is as easy as you both say and I don't have to reinstall the film.

Actually, you might have to wait for the Xpel to settle before doing the ding repair. Otherwise, if it's done now, you could have a problem.

OR,

If it's still hasn't settled in, you can have someone take it off, fix the repair and put it back on.

I'd ask around, see what everyone tells.
Most likely repair shops will tell you, to cover their asses, they need to remove the xpel first before repairing.

I'll call the shop that installed the XPEL first. You probably are right about letting it settle first, and probably right about what the body shop might say...

PDR is not always suction. For some stubborn dents they use glue to pulll it off. In this case the film has to come off.
Can you reach the bump from under the hood?

F'n acorns destroyed the hood on my Benz two years ago. I had around 30 dents in the hood and truck lids. The dent wizard took them out for about $500. My deductible of course.

The bump is behind the insulation under the hood, I didn't try to remove it to check, just looked to see if I could see it and found it to be where the insulation is. The dent is somewhat in the middle of the hood.
