Evap system
Usual long story short. Had my 2016 A6 with 76k in for 75k and service at the dealer. Ended up needing to have water pump and engine mounts replaced, decided to do mounts too since they were already in there. Got the car back and the next day had two codes pop up, p2024 and p2026 for evap system. Never had those codes or any service light come on before that day, other than break sensor light of course. Brought it back to the dealer the next day and they said it’s completely unrelated to previous service and quoted me 1900 to fix “new” problem but said I don’t need to fix it and could just watch it. They said it was just coincidence. I find it hard to believe. Does anyone have any advice about where to go with this?

I was trying to say that the only other time I had a service light come on was for rear brakes. I read your post wrong. I was only trying to figure out if it’s possible that the evap system was damaged while the engine mounts and water pump were being addressed. It may be a coincidence but seems odd.

same issue here..CEL P2024...2016 A6 3.0T, and when you look up that part name there is nothing that matches it, I have tried to reset it and it pops on every day, someone in the A3 area showed some wires by the gas tank that rub against the body but I didnt see anything about a replacement part or anything that I could use to track down a part number for replacement, have you found anything out yet??

I ended up having the whole system replaced by the dealer under warranty of the aforementioned service. They determined it was related to my previous service and replaced it all. I asked if they could figure out which part was the issue and they said they typically just replace all the entire system so that they are not chasing their tail.

so by whole system are saying they replaced the canister and purge valves etc?
