Headlight Switch button function

Headlight Switch button function
Sorry to ask such a probably simple question but I have a new to me '14 A6 Prestige TDI and a few days ago I found a button on the left side of the headlight switch that I cannot figure out what it does. I push it and it says "on," then push it again and it says "off." It seems to that well, but I have not been able to figure out what else it is supposed to do. I have tried to see if anything changes while in the garage in dim light and after dark as well as driving in the dark (thinking it might be for fog lights) and cannot tell that anything happens. I went through the manual and all I find is an explanation for the more complicated switch for the night vision/HUD/rear fogs and nothing about my simple on/off button. Is there an automatic high beams function? DRL's are only dealt with in the MMI. Can't be the cornering light as the button is off and those work just fine. It would be cool if it were some kind of laser aiming device but sadly I do not see a red spot projected out in front of me while on the road. Thanks for your help.

I am going to guess its the rear fog lights. A picture would be helpful!. More than likely the owners manual would tell you too!

hmm... doesn’t it say it’s a 2014 A6 prestige TDI in WI? A picture would be helpful though.

For the rear fog switch, isn’t it just a little light that goes on/off on the switch and doesn’t actualy show “on/off” like he claims and those are pretty bright lights that I would think he would notice in a dark garage, especially after seeing in the manual something about rear fog and he’s still not thinking that’s it. I’d really like to see a picture. Maybe it’s the little **** that adjusts the HUD up/down and turns it off/on when pushed?
