iPhone 5 may have issues with AMI
I have an old iPod nano permanently connected and use my iPhone via BT. I am thinking most people will use BT anyway so probably not a huge deal IMO.

"The $29/$39 Lightning adapter certainly sounds pricey (and is generating some high-profile complaints for its cost and for the retrofit challenges), but one reason for that is the amount of work it has to do. As with Thunderbolt, these are "cables with a chip"; they handle digital to analog conversion, USB audio, all the signaling for track changes, etc. that were part of the original 30-pin connector standard"

I have ordered the new iPhone and will test it on Friday. I will post the results afterwards.
UPDATE: I should say...I will test as soon as Apple also releases the "Lightning to 30-pin Adapter"

I'll probably have the Bluetooth connectivity report up Friday night.
If Apple also has the "Lightning to 30-pin" adapter available also, then I'll post that as well. Otherwise I'll post as soon as it comes out.
SIDENOTE: I am registered in the Apple Developer program and have been testing the iOS 6 Beta on my 3Gs. Here are the highlights:
- Beta 1 did not work with the MMI
- Beta 2-4 did work
- Have not tested the GM ("Golden Master" - Final Release version) which will be released on Wed. Sept. 19th - Unfortunately my 3Gs was stolen
