Main water pump failure 2.0L 2012-2014 class action settlement, extended warranty
This seems legit, got the below in the mail (funny, I just replaced my failed water pump a few weeks ago on my 2013 A6 2.0L), class action lawsuit to be settled on march 26, 2020:
because I DIYed it, can only claim parts cost, pity. Miling came with a claims form, until April 2020 to reply.
Extended warranty if settled, is for 100K miles/10 years. Mine failed at 7 years, 65K, so check those coolant reservoirs! They hold quite a bit, and can be darn near empty before you get a warning on your dash....

This is interesting. I just purchased a 2013 A4 with 69K miles that is included in this class action lawsuit. It looks like the water pump was replaced under warranty by the dealership due to a leak at around 40k miles. Good to know that there will be further protections to water pump failures and even a percentage of reimbursement if it causes an engine failure.
You can check to see if your car is a part of this class action lawsuit by submitting your VIN here: https://enginewaterpumpsettlement.com/CheckVIN
