Price difference between 3.0 & 2.0 engine

Price difference between 3.0 & 2.0 engine
The price of 2013 A6 3.0 is $50,400 and the 2013 A6 2.0 quattro 8 speed tiptronic is $44,400. Why is the 3.0 model $6000 more expensive? Both cars have the same transmission and quattro.

About the same for the A8---The outgoing 2012 A8 4.2 V8 retails for $6,550 more versus 2013 A8 3.0T V6.

It just wasn't quick enough for my tastes with that engine. It does a fine job with the GTI and A4, but I think that is the limit of what it can comfortably do.
Just my opinion of course. Also I very much like the look of the Prestige body kit which makes the A6 IMO.
I would probably chose to drop down in size and engine to an A4 if cost was a concern as I think the driving dynamics are much better on that mating.
Again just my opinion, as most of my previous cars have had 3-400HP I found it impossible to drive something that slow, if the 2.0T was pushing 250hp or similar to the Sonata 2.0T then MAYBE, but I still feel it works to hard, where as the 3.0 Supercharged engine is effortless as I feel the car deserves.

The price difference is mainly for the engine power, but this difference is similar across other competitors like BMW 528 vs 535 there is cost about 5-6k, you pay for more powerful engine. Depending on one's driving style/conditions there may be no need for 3.0 & 2.0 is more than sufficient, but there is noticeable power difference between the two that caused the cost difference.

BMW MSRP ( without destination ) price for 2012 535 is $52,500 & 528 is 46,900. The 535 includes leather seat and 18' wheels. So if we add the leather seats and wheel price to the 528, the price is 46,900 + 1450 + 800 = 49,150. So 52,500 - 49,150 = $3,350

Generally I use my A6 for commuting and am limited in speed to the car in front of me. I love the performance of the 3.0T but the 2.0T would be as pratical in my situation.
I wouldn't be interested in a front wheel drive CVT Audi, but a Quattro Tip 2.0T A6 would have interested me.
I don't know the weight difference between the A5 and A6, but I had a 2011 A5 and the performance wasn't bad.
