Default Prospective Audi Owner - 2014 A6 2.0 quattro

Friends,
Thank you to everyone for creating such a wonderful forum.
I am planning to by an A6 2014 2.0 quattro with premium plus, bose and side assist package.
Called couple of dealers and the best price i was told was $50k + tax&lic. Please help me decide if this is a fair price?
FYI - This is my first time buying a luxury car. I have always driven a honda accord.
Also what is an average cost of the extended warranty?
Thank you once again friends.

Why the 2.0? You could get more car for the money if you went with the 3.0 as I believe it already includes the options you're listed, sans Bose.

Apples to apples the 2.0 and the 3.0 Premium Plus are priced about $5,645 apart. This is a significant difference.

It seems that it is fairly rare that people get much more than about 6% off list price...and many pay close to list. Comepare what you have been offered and see how the percentage works out. Sometimes you can use a buying club like Costco to get a discount. Being a member in the Audi Club for at least six months or buying a lifetime membership will get you a 6% discount.

Money matters. Getting a good dealership may be even more important. Ideally you'd find both.

Good luck.

It is interesting when you say this. The implication in here is if one buys a car from a certain dealership, one will have to bring their car for the service to the same dealership. I agree with the idea that the service department matters much more than the sales department when it comes to entire car ownership experience. But I don't agree with a perception that a lot of car owners have. Meaning, if one buys a car from one dealer, that person cant develop service related relationship with a different dealer (the one that the owner prefers) precisely because the vehicle was not purchased from a different dealer.

To OP: 50K sounds a bit high for 2.0 A6. You can get a moderately equipped A6 3.0 for around 55K. You will get a lot more for additional 5K in this instance.

I'm the kind of person who buys the car and not the deal. A 2.0, to me, is the sort of car for people who bought the deal. quattro is standard on the 3.0. Since you're getting so many options on the 2.0, you might as well take the 3.0. Also, have you looked at depreciation between the two?

If you're considering the 2.0 purely for financial reasons, then a low mileage, 3.0 CPO might cost less, be easier to resell, and the first owner has taken a big bite out of the depreciation letting you get more vehicle for the buck. It's not hard to find 3.0's coming off short lease with 12-16k miles--just barely broken in.

Well thank you all for your help. There are couple of reasons i am deciding on the 2.0 than 3.0
1. Of course finance is one of the key factor. I am looking to keep thing around $55k.
2. Personally thing 4 cylinders are easier to maintain for a long period of time. - Please help me correct myself if i am wrong.
3. I live in SoCal and i tried every dealer within 100 miles and no dealer has a 3.0 on oolong grey with brown interior.

Help me make a wise decision friends.

FYI - i negotiated the price to $49k.

Any ideas on the extended warranties?

Thanks

I would question this one as a valid assumption.
