It looks like a clear coat that was applied in the beginning of the video. Something like Rain-X for paint.

I wonder if it's permanent and what would happen if the undercarriage was sprayed. It might slow down brake line and body rust in the northern climates.

they used a white car....the true test is how a Brilliant Black will look after a day of fun with the Quattro. I wonder if the sheen is somehow impacted. I really do like the concept!!
