Default Seating Position

I just traded in my 2011 A4 for a 2014 A6 prestige, moonlight blue with nougat interior. I'm in love with this car. Everything I liked about the A4, except more room and, well, just more!

One problem: My petite wife (5'2") doesn't like the thigh pads on the seats (we had the standard seats on the A4), and says she cant get comfortable.
Do any of you have experience with this? And do you have any solutions that you have come across as to how to set the seat?

Other than not letting her in the car (which will be Plan B)

I also don't like the thigh pads, I never find I am quite comfortable in the seat, sorry I have no solution.

Lowering the seat won't be popular.

One option might be to have a custom foam pad made for the floor, then have a shop make a floor mat to the new dimension (or maybe just have the matt covered in a black fabric and put the mat on top). Easy enough to do a proof of concept before spending much money.

It seems that the left thigh pad pushes into the thigh so I moved to the right to be more central in the seat but then the wheel is to the left. I don't have a big butt or thighs so I would guess that someone wider than I would be very uncomfortable.

I'm in same boat, I would rather have no support on the sides than the way they are now, I am never comfortable in the position I want to drive in, I have to artificially move toward the center of the car.

When I first got my car it thought the seats were stiff and uncomfortable, but they do losses up a bit. I will say the seats are amount the top 3 things that I hate about the car. I enjoy the car, but my Infiniti had far more comfortable seats.

Despite my massive girth, I've never had a problem with the seats in the A6. They aren't as good as the ones in the A8 (or many other cars; the SRT8 ones are the best, but eat rear seat leg room), but they're decent.

I don't allow people to eat in the rear seat even if there is more leg room. Or the front seat for that matter.

I too have that same problem with feeling that I have to move to the center to get the pressure off my left thigh...I thought I was the only one. Weird...wonderful seats but why is the left bolster so screwed up?

Must be a certain body shape issue. I've had no problem with the side bolsters or anything else with the Prestige seats. I did have to find the right positions and get used to the seats when I first took delivery but that's always been the case for me with a new car. Short or long drives are comfortable.
