Tiny button

What's the tiny button to the right and down from the HVAC fan speed controller? I could not find a reference in the manual and it's unlabeled.

Its not a button, its a sensor.

I was wondering the same thing...sure looks like a button to me...what is the purpose of this sensor?

Consensus is the sensor is sensing the cabin temp, which makes sense as the sensor has to sense it somewhere that makes sense. That's my two cents.
