Winter Setup
Running the oh-so-common VMR V710
19x8.5 +35
245/40/19 Michelin Alpin PA4
Pretty happy with the setup so far. Can't wait for snow to do some trials (which I know I will regret saying in two months).
VMR's are nice, have received a few compliments in just a weeks time. A little disappointed that one of the wheels already has a chip from a rock or road debris. Hoping this is coincidence and not a sign of quality of the finish. Put a nice coat of wax on the clear coat to protect as much as possible moving forward. The offset on this set is actually quite nice IMO. Was able to pop in a set of factory center caps (Amazon - $11) without issue.
They are close in size to the factory 19" tires at 245/40 vs 255/40. Based on the manual and my first effort at adjustment I'm running 37PSI front and 35 rear. What have people had good luck with on 19" tire pressure?
The thread rolling around about 20" pressure was immensely helpful in honing in what worked.
Regarding sizing, not sure what you are thinking for tire width, but the 35 offset would be an aggressive arrangement with a 9.5 I'd say. +35 would result in 2.7mm closer to the suspension (inside) and stick out an additional 22.7mm (outside), which is almost an extra inch further out than the factory 20's. A +45 offset with a 9.5 wheel would be 12.7mm more inside and 12.7mm more outside. I'm also making this comparison against my factory 20" wheels which are 8.5 wide with a +45 offset. The below link will show differences before and after so you can enter your numbers against whatever wheels came with your vehicle.
As comparison - my +35 8.5" wheels stick out 10mm further and it is visibly noticeable.
