Coolant loss

Coolant loss
Definite slow coolant loss 2019 40TDI 48k miles. No visible signs of an actual leak. Checked oil filler cap, normal. Is this a common issue? Been advised not to put any of the propietory radiator sealant liquids in. Car still under extended warranty, would this be covered please. Any help appreciated

Doesn't sound normal. Definitely do not add any sealant and also only use the correct rated antifreeze mixture to top the tank up. Most likely cause is a faulty cap and changing that would the easiest cheapest option. Alternatively you will probably need a pressure test to see if there is a leak. Could be a tiny hole in the radiator caused by a stone. Alternatively it could be the water pump leaking, a pipe that has a small hole or a simply has come loose. As I say a pressure test will give you the answer. As to being covered by warranty, I guess it will depend if it is found to be caused by (stone) damage, general wear and tear or failure of item expected to last. I suspect that only in the last case will it be covered by warranty..
