Software updates
I have a question about software updates. I've had my 2020 A6 for about 4 months and I'm continuously having a central locking issues where the locking mechanism just stops. Each time I bring it in, the dealer tells me there's a software updated fixes it. I'm bringing it in today for the second time.
My my questions are:

- Are software updates published anywhere so we can search online to see what the latest updates are and what they fix (release notes)?
- do all software updates have to be done at the dealership or can it be done over the air like other cars?
- What happens when my Audi goes out of warranty and I need a software update? Do I have to bring it to the dealership and do they charge for it?

2. All updates need to go back to the dealer.
3. That will depend on the update. If it is one that you want but is not mandatory you will pay for it. If Audi or NHSTA determines it is safety related, then you will probably get it for free.
